Overview of the migration method.

Your individual BaanIV/V - Installation
The migration starts with your individual Baan IV/V – Solution.

Data Migration to easybaan® - template
In order to have an installation of ERP LN up and running very quickly the data will be converted to a template called easybaan®. An open and standard technology is used to get the data out of Baan IV/V and in to ERP LN. In this process some data is carried over 1:1 to ERP LN and other data is converted by using the easybaan® standards. After this step, your core processes of ERP LN are ready for use. Processes that can be executed from beginning to end for Sales Order Management, Enterprise Planning, Manufacturing, Purchase Order Management, Warehousing, Central Invoicing and Finance.

Easybaan® – template ERP LN
The easybaan®-template includes a ready-to-go company in ERP LN. This means about 300 ERP LN tables are already filled with parameter settings and required logistical and financial data. The data is configured in such a way that your company core processes can be handled directly from the beginning once all data has been loaded into ERP LN. 

GAP-Analysis
In this phase the differences between the easybaan® template company and your individual requirements have to be investigated.
Therefore the way you utilize Baan IV/V has to be analyzed and among others the following questions have to be answered:

1. Where is the focus of your usage of BaanIV/V?
2. What is important in your line of business?
3. What is so individually specific about your company?
4. What went well during your first implementation(s) and what can be improved within the migration to ERP LN ?

 
For the migration of your reports the required layouts and contents have to be fixed.
For the recoding of the key-tables their actual state has to be analyzed: Is the old coding of Baan IV/V desired in ERP LN or can the coding from the easybaan® template company be used in ERPLN?
For the parameters and settings the Baan IV/V and ERP LN environments have to be compared and overlaps and differences have to be analyzed.
During the GAP-analysis it is also important to take a very close look at your Baan IV/V application customizations in case they are present. Among others the following questions may have to be answered:

1. Are these customizations still needed in ERP LN or have they been covered by the new enhanced functionality of ERP LN?
2. What customizations have to be carried over to ERP LN?
3. What kind of consultancy/training will be needed to activate these modules/packages in ERP LN?

Report-Migration
In order to provide you with a lean, efficient and effective migration we have included a tool inside our easybaan® bundle called sq-VD. This tool takes all the standard documents from ERP LN and transforms them into attractive and representative documents that can be sent to your business partners. With sq-VD you can easily add your company logos, graphics and other company information into standard ERP LN – reports without the need for any customizations . Just like the data migration sq-VD can be implemented in a very short time frame and only a few changes to the standard ERP LN reports are needed.

Re-Coding
The power of the easybaan® template company is that it already contains tables with pre-defined key information like item groups, cost price components, countries, etc. In this way we allow you to only migrate 20 – 40% of your individual data and you will be able to save a lot of time during the data migration process of your ERP LN implementation.
However, if desired these pre-defined codes can be changed before your Baan IV/V data will be loaded into ERP LN. As part of our process we will be able to convert the values of the loaded data from the easybaan® standard codes to your individual customer standards allowing you to use all codes you were used to in Baan IV/V.

Application Migration
Customizations that are not covered by the enhanced functionality of ERP LN have to be transferred to ERP LN. Since the data structures, table names, field names, etc. have been changed 
these customizations will require reprogramming in ERP LN.

The definition of the requirements will be done by our Migration Labs consultants and the coding will be taken care of by our Indian partner.

Postmigration Jobs
In this step the recalculation of project costs or the comparison of old and migrated statistical data will take place.  With the postmigration jobs we check the integrity of the migrated data and if the Baan IV data is congruent with the Infor ERP LN data you have reached your inidividual ERP LN environment.

Your individual ERP LN environment
This is the final stage where your migration project ends.
After performing all the steps mentioned above the project reaches a state where:
- Your ERP LN implementation offers Baan IV/V-functions
- Your company can benefit from enhanced features and functions of ERP LN
- Your users enjoy the improved user interface
